CLASSICISM BYZANTINE ART & LATER 17TH CENTURY BAROQUE
Born in Sicily in 1978, Rosso has been living in London since 2000. Before painting, she graduated in Human Rights and International Relations. Primarily self-taught, she trained briefly at the Royal Drawing School (London) and at the London Atelier of Representational Art (LARA) and has been painting full time since 2016.
Rosso uses portraiture and self-portraiture to explore aspects of femininity and broader moral and social issues. Her art seems to flow from memories and experiences collected during her early formative years.
In 2019 she was awarded the Jackson Open Painting Prize 2019, the The Harbour Gallery Award and the The Artist's Exhibition Award at TALP Open. She also featured in The Sky Portrait Artist of The Year series.
